"Bond of Silence" starring Kim Raver
[Synopsis] A wife who has lost her husband seeks forgiveness from a murderer who regrets his crime. Katie and her husband, Bob, were living a happy life in a small rural town, but one day, trouble occurred, causing a commotion that drew a flood of media coverage.
On New Year's Eve 1997, Shane Batesman organised a big party for all his friends and classmates, but only about 200 guests.
In the house across the road, the McIntoshes are also celebrating with some friends, but the noise disturbs them, so Bob, the house owner, decides to find Shane and ask him to turn down the volume.
Bob is unable to find Shane, who has gone out to buy more alcohol for the unexpected guests and finds himself in what is presumably Shane's parents' bedroom.
Here, a group of boys have retreated to drink and take drugs. Bob, who knows Shane's father, asks the boys to leave, but they react badly and attack him.
Bob is found badly injured on the ground, and the ambulance is unable to help him. He dies on the way to the hospital.
Katy, Bob's widow, is devastated. When she learns that her husband did not die of a heart attack, as was initially thought but was murdered, she demands justice.
She urges Jackson, the detective, to find the culprit. She encounters the silence of the boys and their parents, who do everything they can to protect them.
The community is also against Katy because they feel she is persecuting innocent young people who could never do anything wrong.
Just as Katy is about to give up, one of the boys sends an anonymous email containing details that shed new light on the investigation.
The informant is Jordan, who has realised that her boyfriend Ryan is hiding something.
Ryan is arrested but initially refuses to answer the police's questions. Then Katy convinces him to tell the truth about what happened, promising him all her support.
Ryan decides to confess and admits that he was the one who punched and kicked Bob, while his friends only pushed him. He blames alcohol.
Ryan is sentenced to five years in prison, and after his release, he and Katy start speaking at high schools to warn young people about the dangers of excessive drinking.
