Japan's humanitarian diplomacy?

1)
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) presents these two rotten apples to the United States. These rotten apples are terrorists.

There are indeed members of the terrorist group Hamas in UNRWA, but they are a tiny minority, they say.

However, at the top of this picture, you can see an apple with a green headband, a symbol of Hamas. There are a lot of apples, aren't there?

2)
The reason is that if you look at the ground below, you can see that the roots say Hamas.

It is Hamas that supports UNRWA. The leading members of UNRWA are Hamas. The senior staff of UNRWA are Hamas.

I will explain why now.

3)
One thousand two hundred of the UNRWA staff in Gaza are members of the terrorist organization Hamas or the Islamic Political War and are active within the political-military organization. Of the 13,000 UNRWA staff in Gaza, 1,200 are Hamas fighters.

An estimated 6,000 people, half of the UNRWA staff in Gaza, have relatives who fight for the terrorist organization Hamas. The Arab world is a patriarchal society. If a key member of the head of a family is Hamas, the family will protect that person at all costs and will think the same way. In other words, UNRWA is an organization with 6,000 relatives of Hamas.

4)
Next, more than 3,000 UNRWA teachers participated in a Telegram group chat praising and celebrating the October 7 massacre. The chat was overflowing with photos and videos. Vast amounts of money are poured into UNRWA, but 80% is spent on labour costs. Only 20% is spent on food and medicine. The question is what this 80% is.

5)
Most of it is the teachers' salaries in the schools that UNRWA builds. These are the personnel costs for those who work on UNRWA services, such as firefighting and cleaning.

UNRWA teachers teach children various things through education. The teachers themselves are in favour of terrorism and say things that glorify the massacres, saying that it has caused significant damage to Israel.

6)
Next, Israel organized a tour for the UN Secretary-General to visit the underground tunnels in Gaza. There are military tunnels dug by Hamas underground in Gaza, so we asked him to go and see them once. When did they give this tour? They went on August 30, 2017.

Do you mean in 2017? Six or seven years ago, they showed the Secretary-General of the United Nations how Hamas was using UNRWA's money to build a military fortress in Gaza. Still, they haven't inspected anything.

UN Secretary General tours terror tunnel
UN Secretary General Guterres tours terror tunnel, receives briefing on Hamas' threat to Israel. - Aug 30, 2017

https://www.israelnationalnews.com/news/234771

United Nations Secretary General António Guterres on Wednesday visited the Gaza border region together with Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nations Danny Danon and IDF Deputy Chief of Staff Aviv Kochavi.
During the helicopter trip from Jerusalem to Gaza, Guterres received a special briefing on security issues in southern Israel. He then visited a Hamas terror tunnel and met with residents of the border communities.

Hamas continues to arm itself in order to harm Israel as it exploits the generous humanitarian aid provided by the international community,” Ambassador Danon told the Secretary General.

Hamas has turned the residents of Gaza into hostages and is investing its resources into digging murderous terror tunnels. At the same time, the Israeli residents of the border communities have stood strong in the face of terror threats, as they build prosperous communities and help further develop the region for the betterment of the next generation.”

Later on Wednesday, Guterres will visit UN facilities in Gaza.

UNHCR

https://www.japanforunhcr.org/appeal/shelter

In 2024, wars and persecution continue around the world, with over 110 million people forced to flee their homes - roughly the same as the total population of Japan. Even at this very moment, many people around the world are suffering from the loss of their homes, including in Ukraine and the Middle East, where fighting continues, in earthquake-hit Turkey, Syria and Afghanistan, and in Sudan, where fighting is still ongoing.

Providing shelters for refugees and internally displaced persons is one of UNHCR's most important tasks, but due to serious funding shortages, the number of shelters cannot keep up with demand, and many families are surviving the elements in makeshift shelters. Shelters are important because they protect the lives and safety of people who have lost their homes, heal their physical and mental wounds, and help them regain their dignity. Please help UNHCR with refugee support so that we can deliver assistance to as many people as possible.

As the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip in Palestine worsens, a cross-party group of lawmakers has called on Prime Minister Ishiba to put in place a system that would allow injured patients to be accepted in Japan.

On the 27th, members of the "League of Parliamentarians for Humanitarian Diplomacy," a cross-party group of Diet members, including the Liberal Democratic Party and the Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan, visited the Prime Minister's Office and handed Prime Minister Ishiba a letter of request.

According to the letter, the Palestinian Gaza Strip is in a critical situation, and they are calling for continued support for UNRWA (United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees.

In the Near East. Furthermore, they are calling for establishing a system to accept injured patients in Japan, as the local medical system is under strain, by a request from the World Health Organization (WHO).

Prime Minister Ishiba, who served as chairman of the Diet Members' League until this month, responded, "This is a particular proposal, so I would like to consult with the people in charge and consider how to respond in the future."

Former Liberal Democratic Party Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare Takemi, who chairs the Diet members' league, told reporters, "We have collected signatures of support from 78 Diet members regarding the contents of this request. We want to make a more concrete contribution as Japan to improving the inhumane situation in the Gaza Strip."

Hamas deputy leader justifies Israeli surprise attack - BBC International Editor in Chief gives exclusive interview - October 4, 2024

https://www.bbc.com/japanese/articles/cj4dqxw9kpko

The Islamic organization Hamas carried out a surprise attack on southern Israel on October 7 last year, killing about 1,200 people and taking more than 250 hostages to the Gaza Strip in Palestine. Most of those killed were Israeli civilians.

BBC International Editor Jeremy Bowen spoke exclusively to Khalil al-Khayya, Hamas's deputy leader based in Doha, Qatar, on the 1st.

In it, Al-Hayya denied that Hamas fighters targeted civilians in the Israeli raids, despite compelling evidence, and justified the attacks as necessary to put the issue of Palestinian statehood back on the global agenda.

He said the cycle of violence in the Middle East will not end unless the world debates this issue.

Bowen noted that the Israeli raid sparked retaliatory attacks that led to the deaths of more than 40,000 Gazans, and asked if he had any regrets. Al-Khayya said Israel's occupation of land that Palestinians believe is theirs is the root cause of violence and carnage in the Middle East.

Al-Hayya is Hamas' most senior official after Supreme Leader Yahya Sinwar, who is believed to be in Gaza.

The exclusive interview took place in Doha, where most of Hamas' political leaders are based, and took place just an hour after Iran launched a ballistic missile attack on Israel.
