The Message from Water: Love Thyself
//Summary - Level-C2//
In the late 1980s, Masaru Emoto developed 'wave counselling with wave water', using an MRA to heal illnesses. Despite scepticism, he sought to visualise water's hidden information. Mr Emoto demonstrated water's responsiveness to music, images, and words by photographing frozen water crystals influenced by various stimuli. His findings, compiled in 'Messages from Water', suggest water remembers information and responds to positive vibrations.
A)
1)
In the late 1980s, Masaru Emoto developed a method called 'wave counselling with wave water'.
In this method, a device called an MRA (Magnetic Resonance Analyzer: the literal translation in Japanese is 'resonance magnetic field analyser') (Fig. 1) is used to measure the energetic state of the client's body and resolve energetic defects one by one (Fig. 2).
2)
Using this method, Representative Emoto has successfully healed numerous clients' illnesses (including serious diseases such as cancer and leukaemia).
Later, based on his experience of wave counselling for nearly 20,000 clients, Representative Emoto wrote more than ten books in the 1990s, which led to a wave boom in Japan.
3)
However, this 'wave motion water' appears no different from ordinary water. In other words, no change is visible to the naked eye before and after the information is added.
This has led some people to question whether the information needed by the client is contained in the 'wave motion water' and even the effectiveness of 'wave motion counselling using wave motion water' itself.
Therefore, Masaru Emoto continued to wonder whether there was any way to 'visualise' the invisible information that was supposed to be contained in the water in some way.
B)
4)
Visualising invisible information:
One day, while reading a book on snow crystals, I came across the sentence, 'No two snow crystals are the same', which suddenly sparked an idea.
The idea was, 'If we can examine the shape of crystals when they are frozen, even if they are transparent water, won't the shape reflect the information contained in the water?'
This was the idea. So Masaru Emoto instructed his staff to freeze the water and examine the shape of the crystals.
5)
Things didn't go very well at first, but after three months of trial and error, they took the first photographs of beautiful hexagonal crystals (Fig. 3) in 1994.
C)
6)
Publication of 'Messages from Water':
After successfully taking the first crystal photographs in 1994, tap water and natural water from various parts of Japan and the world were used as water samples, and their crystal photographs were taken.
However, over time, under the direction of Masaru Emoto, various experiments were carried out.
The various crystal photographic data taken over approximately five years were compiled and published as a photographic collection in 1999 in the book 'Messages from Water'.
D)
7)
Contents of Messages from Water:
Water crystals in tap water:
Research into tap water in Japan and worldwide has revealed that a clean hexagonal crystal structure is not usually observed in large cities such as Tokyo (Fig. 4) and London (Fig. 5).
However, relatively clean crystal structures were observed from tap water in areas where the natural environment was thought to remain (Fig. 6).
E)
8)
Water crystals in natural water:
Next, crystal photographs were taken of various natural waters collected from springs, ponds and rivers. A few examples of natural water are shown below.
9)
Water from the spring at the foot of the Yatsugatake Mountains, which has been selected as one of the 100 best waters in Japan, showed crystals with a beauty that could be used as a jewel as it is (Fig. 7).
We have photographed many crystals in the past. Still, Spring Water's crystals are the most beautiful natural waters.
10)
From the water of Lake Majorette in Switzerland, we observed a well-proportioned and beautiful hexagonal crystal structure, albeit a little tricky (Fig. 8).
We also received and examined ice from Antarctica, which was 300,000 years old. Still, we observed a well-proportioned and robust crystal structure (Fig. 9).
F)
11)
Effects of Music:
The following slightly different 'experiment' looked at what happens when music is played to water.
A glass container filled with water was placed between two speakers, and a tune was played to the water (Fig. 10). The water was then frozen as usual, and the crystal photographs were examined.
12)
In subsequent experiments, the same thing was always used as water—distilled water. Very simple-shaped crystals were observed in the distilled water before music was played (Fig. 11).
Water crystals from Mozart's Symphony No. 40 in G minor (Fig. 12) are an example of an experiment in which music was played to water. Potent crystals appeared.
On the other hand, when heavy metal music was played, beautiful crystals did not form (Fig. 13).
G)
13)
Effects of photography:
Emoto Masaru went further and experimented with 'showing pictures in water'.
14)
First, he used a photograph of a group of dolphins and placed distilled water in a container on top of the picture. After one day leaving it in this state, the water was frozen, and the crystals were observed (Fig. 14).
As a result, a dolphin school-like shape appeared in the centre of the crystals (Fig. 15).
H)
15)
Next, a picture of an elephant was shown in water (Fig. 16). Very interestingly, an elephant nose-like shape appeared from the periphery of the crystal structure towards the central core (Fig. 17).
16)
Next, we showed the water a photograph of the Izumo-Taisha shrine (Fig. 18). This resulted, again very interestingly, in crystals resembling the shrine's roof and Shimenawa (Fig. 19).
The heart mark was shown in water (Fig. 20), and crystals in the shape of a heart mark appeared (Fig. 21).
I)
17)
After seeing these results, Representative Emoto said, These pictures prove that water remembers information exactly. However, I honestly think I cannot say anything about this alone.
18)
'Proof' is a pretty strong word; to 'prove' requires repeated experiments to verify reproducibility.
However, I also feel it is unlikely that these crystal photographs were taken entirely by chance. Something more than coincidence might be at work.
J)
19)
The effect of words:
Masaru Emoto went further and experimented with 'showing letters water'.
20)
Specifically, he used a computer and a printer to print five hiragana characters - 'Thank you' and 'You idiot'' on white paper and stuck them on a glass container filled with water.
The paper on which the letters were printed was attached to the glass surface from the other side of the container so that the printed side faced the water, i.e. the water could read the letters (Fig. 22、23、24).
K)
21)
We have also conducted a number of these 'letter-showing' experiments.
Representative Emoto and I think the most beautiful crystal photographs taken to date are those of water crystals showing the characters love characters. (Fig 25、26)
22)
In the central core, a flat surface is created, like a polished mirror, while at the same time, a solid hexagonal frame is formed around it, and an extremely delicate, gem-like structure surrounds it. The overall shape of the hexagon is also very beautifully balanced.
23)
Neither love nor gratitude alone can be observed in such a crystalline structure, and it is only when both elements, love and appreciation, are present at the same time that this beautiful structure is created.
This is why Representative Emoto says that 'this universe was created by combining two vibrations, love and gratitude'.

24)
Summary of "The Message from the Water":
The message conveyed by The Message from the Water can be summarised in the following three sections:
25)
1. Good water makes beautiful crystals. It was also suggested that bad water does not make crystals at all.
2. Music, images, words, prayers, etc can transform water.
3. Water seems to favour the vibrations of love and gratitude the most.
26)
'Good water' is first 'water in harmony with the original vibrations of nature' and can, at the same time, be replaced by 'healthy water'.
'Bad Water' can be defined as 'water that is not in harmony with nature' or 'water that is not good for your health'. We consider tap water containing chlorine, which has a disinfecting effect, an example of 'bad water'.
27)
In any case, if we were to summarise these three points in one line, it would be that "'Messages from Water' suggests the possibility that 'water can remember information.'"

Water is the key element of life, but new information is emerging about this element that we thought we were so familiar with—information that could potentially reimagine our tree of life.
That is the belief shared by the advocates of a surprising theory called "water memory". For Prof. Luc Montagnier, water can reproduce the properties of any substance it once contained. Water would have the ability to retain a memory of the properties of the molecules.
What if Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, autism, HIV and even cancer could be treated thanks to this controversial theory?
