The second part of documents related to the late Epstein was released, including methods of recruiting girls

(CNN) Nineteen new documents were released on Thursday in the case of Jeffrey Epstein, the American billionaire who committed suicide in prison before his trial on sex trafficking charges.

The judge presiding over the case ordered the release of the documents on December 18 last year in response to a legal request from the media. The second document, released on the night of January 4, runs to more than 300 pages.

Hundreds of pages of documents were released on the 3rd, and more are expected to be released in the coming weeks.

The document is expected to contain nearly 200 names, including those not yet made public, those critical of Mr Epstein, prominent business people and politicians.

CNN is currently reviewing the documents.

The appearance of a name on a published document does not necessarily indicate that a person has been accused of or engaged in illegal activity.

The content of the documents ranges from technical legal arguments to affidavits and descriptions of allegations, most or all of which are likely already known from other disclosures or media interviews.

One of the documents is an affidavit from a Palm Beach, Florida, police detective describing how Epstein and his partner, Ghislaine Maxwell, discovered and recruited young girls to perform massages and other services at Epstein's home. The detective led the investigation into Mr Epstein in the mid-2000s.

His lawyer asked the detective how many of the girls he spoke to had been recruited by Maxwell, and he replied, ``About 30. Something like 30, 33.''

When asked, ``If the victim brought another friend at the end of the massage, did the girl receive payment for inviting her friend?'' he replied, ``Yes.

In one scene, the lawyer asks the detective, "Has it been determined that 'massage' is a slang term for another act?" and he replies, "When girls give massages, it's for sexual gratification."

The documents come from a civil lawsuit filed in 2015 by Virginia Roberts Giuffre, an American woman who claims she was sexually abused by Epstein when she was a minor. She also alleges that Maxwell facilitated Joffrey's sexual abuse of her.

Giuffre and Maxwell settled in 2017, but court documents were previously blacked out to protect privacy. Some names and information are also redacted in the released documents.
